How it's done?
Fractionnal stitches
It's thanks to split dots that I can achieve fine detail in curves and faces.
It's as if they were “half-pixels”: this technique consists in splitting the point and thus smoothing the rendering.
How does it work?
Imagine that you divide the surface of your dot into four and keep only fractions. You'll see, it's a lot easier than it looks!
As a picture is often worth a thousand words, here's a diagram of how to make these points:

You can see that each stitch covers the area of 1/2 a normal cross, either horizontally or diagonally (they could also be horizontal).
You'll also notice that the crosses are always made in the same direction, like the rest of your work.
So, by combining these split points with the whole points and orienting them judiciously, you can achieve very fine details while retaining the appearance and thickness of the neighboring points.
This is how the most detailed parts of my work are created: as you can see, there's nothing magical about it.
Simply a technique adapted to its rendering ;)
